Sharing and Publishing

Once your story is finished, tested, and polished, you can share it with your friends.

Check Controls

First of all, make sure to check the controls. To do this, simply click on the check button from the editor. The controls indicate potential errors that your story may encounter (orphan sequences, missing ending sequence, etc.).

It is not mandatory to fix these errors to be able to share the link of a story. However, unless you are sharing the link for testing, correction, or proofreading purposes, it is important to make sure that there are no longer any errors in your story before publishing it. If a link is broken, your story may become unplayable and create confusion among your readers.

Sharing My Story Privately

To get the link that opens your story in the player, you can click at any time on the Share button from the editor.

A QR code is also available to easily get this link on your phone.

Private Stories

When a story is shared privately, it is enough to have its link to access it. In this sharing mode, the version of the story is exactly the one in the editor: if you make modifications, they will be taken into account without changing the link.

Sharing My Story Publicly

Publishing a story in the Moiki Social Club can also be done from the sharing popup, by clicking on the Social Club tab.

To share a story on the Moiki Social Club, it must be saved and contain no errors reported by the controls. Also, you need to create your unique identifier if you haven't already.

By publishing your story, you create a copy. This allows you to make updates in the editor without these changes affecting the published version. To validate these changes, you will then need to publish a new version of the story.

With each publication of a new version, you can enter a version note explaining the new features. This will allow your players to identify the changes made.

The publication options also allow you to enable or disable notes and reviews.

Types of Licenses

Story publishing can be done with three types of licenses :

  • Moiki: This is our basic license. It means that the published version of your story will only be distributed on the Moiki.fr Social Club.

  • Moiki Plus: With this license, you allow your story to be distributed on all platforms created by Moiki® (like our mobile app, for example).

  • Creative Commons: You can choose a Creative Commons license for your story. This means that you allow everyone to reuse your story to create a new one or adapt it to other media, provided they cite your name. Stories published with this license have a public link to be downloaded.

Sharing the Editor

You can also invite your close ones to take a look at the story editor in read-only mode! This can, for example, allow you to show how you created your story (or show off your amazing graph!).

To share your editor, you will need to go to the Settings tool and then to the Share tab.
